Cornerstone - What are the Roles in Cornerstone and How do I find Cornerstone System Training?


Introduction

There are various access roles within the Cornerstone platform, depending on what kind of tasks you need to perform. Training is available within Cornerstone Learning for each of those roles. Log into  Cornerstone Learning(link is external) to find the training.

The access roles and role descriptions in Cornerstone are listed below, along with the associated training titles and estimated time to complete.

How to Search for the training titles in Cornerstone Learning (link is external):

From the Cornerstone home page, click Global Search (yellow magnifying glass in the upper right corner), search on the title, click launch and complete the online training. 

 

Learners (this includes most faculty, staff and students): Learners consist of all Michigan Medicine faculty, staff, students and other affiliated groups that are required to complete training for their job.  

 

Managers: Managers can view and manage employees and direct reports.  They can assign and manage training from employees' transcripts, view and update employees' profiles/user records and run related training reports. 

  • Associated Training: Search for CSOD-10002 Introduction to Cornerstone Learning for Managers. (Estimated time to complete: 90 minutes)
  • The Manager role is automatically given to employees who have direct reports within Cornerstone Learning.

 

Instructors: Instructors manage the ILT sessions and rosters for the Events that they are responsible for. This includes managing enrollment, waitlists, and interest tracking. They are responsible for submitting the roster and marking learners complete for a session. Instructors also can create and edit sessions. 

 

Facilitators: Facilitators are administrators that manage training for a group of users/learners. They ensure training is assigned, accurate and completed. Facilitators can run related training reports, add training to a user's transcript and update an employee's profile.

  • Associated Training: Search for CSOD-10000: Introduction to Cornerstone Learning for Facilitators. (Estimated time to complete: 2 hours)

  • Facilitator Access is granted within 24 hours after completing the CSOD-10000 Introduction to Cornerstone for Facilitators training.
